Lioness Renewed for Season 3 at Paramount

Paramountplus

Paramount+ has officially renewed Taylor Sheridan’s thriller series Lioness for a third season, with Zoe Saldaña and Nicole Kidman returning as stars and executive producers. The news comes almost a year after Season 2 wrapped, making the renewal a long-awaited confirmation for fans.

The delay was partly due to scheduling and contract negotiations. While Saldaña had a three-season deal in place from the beginning, Kidman had to sign a new agreement for Season 3, which took time to finalize. Once the deal was closed earlier this year, the season was quietly greenlit, though Paramount+ held back on making the announcement until now.

Production on Season 3 is expected to begin in October at the new SGS Studios facility in Fort Worth, Texas, which was recently launched in partnership with Sheridan’s company 101 Studios, Paramount Television, and Hillwood. The studio will also host filming for other Sheridan-led projects, including Landman and The Madison.

In Season 2, the CIA’s fight against terrorism took a more personal turn, with Joe (Saldaña), Kaitlyn (Kidman), and Byron (Michael Kelly) recruiting a new Lioness operative to take on an unexpected threat. The story highlighted the growing pressure on Joe as she faced the sacrifices required to lead the Lioness program.

Alongside Saldaña and Kidman, the second season featured a strong supporting cast, including Morgan Freeman, Michael Kelly, Laysla De Oliveira, Genesis Rodriguez, Dave Annable, Jill Wagner, LaMonica Garrett, James Jordan, Austin Hébert, Jonah Wharton, Thad Luckinbill, and Hannah Love Lanier. Kidman’s performance even earned her a Critics Choice Award nomination for Best Supporting Actress.

While Paramount+ has not yet revealed a release date or story details for Season 3, fans can expect Sheridan’s trademark mix of high-stakes espionage, emotional drama, and star power to continue driving the series forward.
