Luke Evans to Make His Broadway Debut as Frank-N-Furter in The Rocky Horror Show Revival

Luke Evans

Actor and singer Luke Evans is officially heading to Broadway. The Beauty and the Beast and Fast & Furious star will make his long-awaited Broadway debut in a brand-new revival of The Rocky Horror Show, stepping into the iconic high heels of Dr. Frank-N-Furter.

The revival begins previews on March 26, 2026, at Studio 54, with an official opening night scheduled for April 23, 2026. The production is part of the Roundabout Theatre Company’s 2025–2026 season, which also includes Noël Coward’s Fallen Angels starring Rose Byrne and Kelli O’Hara.

A Bold New Take on a Cult Classic

The production will be directed by Tony Award winner Sam Pinkleton (Oh, Mary!, Natasha, Pierre & The Great Comet of 1812), who promises to bring a fresh, electric vision to Richard O’Brien’s timeless musical.

> “I’m giddy to crack this untamable classic open with the razor-sharp Luke Evans at the center,” Pinkleton said in a statement. “We’re creating a world that celebrates the weird, the wild, and the wonderfully freaky — exactly what Rocky Horror has always stood for.”

Luke Evans Returns to His Theatrical Roots

Before his Hollywood rise, Evans built his career on London’s West End, appearing in Rent, Miss Saigon, and Piaf. His film credits include Clash of the Titans, The Hobbit trilogy, Dracula Untold, and Hulu’s Nine Perfect Strangers.

The Welsh performer has also released two studio albums showcasing his powerhouse vocals — experience that should make his Frank-N-Furter both musically and dramatically magnetic.

The revival features a powerhouse creative lineup, including:

Choreography: Ani Taj (Dead Outlaw)

Music Direction & Orchestrations: Kris Kukul (Beetlejuice, All In: Comedy About Love)

Additional cast members are expected to be announced soon.

The Rocky Horror Show: A 52-Year Global Phenomenon

First staged at London’s Royal Court Theatre in 1973, The Rocky Horror Show became a cultural landmark. The 1975 film adaptation, The Rocky Horror Picture Show, starring Tim Curry, transformed the character of Frank-N-Furter into an icon and inspired decades of midnight screenings, fan costumes, and audience participation.

This will be the musical’s third Broadway run, following previous productions in 1975 and 2000

Why Fans Are Excited

Luke Evans’ combination of theatrical roots, vocal strength, and on-screen charisma makes him a dream choice for Frank-N-Furter. With a daring creative team and the legendary Studio 54 as its home, this revival could be one of Broadway’s most talked-about events of 2026.
