Jake Paul Blasts Gervonta Davis After Netflix Fight Is Canceled

The much-hyped Jake Paul vs. Gervonta “Tank” Davis boxing match, originally scheduled for November 14 at the Kaseya Center in Miami, has officially been canceled following serious domestic violence allegations against Davis.

Paul’s promotional company, Most Valuable Promotions (MVP), confirmed on Monday that the event would not go forward. The fight was set to stream on Netflix, marking another major crossover moment for the streaming platform’s growing involvement in live sports.

However, the plans fell apart after Davis was accused of battery, aggravated battery, false imprisonment, kidnapping, and intentional infliction of emotional distress by his ex-girlfriend, Courtney Rossel. The alleged incident reportedly took place on October 27 at a Miami strip club called Tootsies. Rossel claims Davis assaulted her in a back room, dragged her outside, and attacked her in the parking garage.

In response, Jake Paul took to social media with a fiery statement, calling Davis “an actual walking human piece of garbage.” Paul said he refused to give “a woman abuser a platform” and apologized to his fans, his team, and the undercard fighters who had already begun preparations for the event.

> “My company champions women,” Paul wrote. “I didn’t want to give this man a chance to profit or gain attention after what he’s done. It’s scary that men like this can rise to power in sports and culture.”

This isn’t the first time Davis has faced similar accusations. He has been involved in several domestic violence cases over the years, including an alleged assault on another ex-girlfriend earlier this year, though that case was later dropped.

Despite the controversy, MVP confirmed that Jake Paul still plans to headline a boxing event on Netflix later this year, with a new opponent and date to be announced soon.

For now, Paul remains focused on moving forward, telling fans he’s ready to face “anyone, anytime, any place.”
