Suspect Arrested After Alleged Attack on Alina Habba’s Newark Office

A California man has been taken into custody in connection with an attack on the federal office of acting U.S. Attorney Alina Habba earlier this week, according to an announcement made Saturday by Attorney General Pam Bondi.

Bondi, posting on X, vowed that federal authorities would not tolerate threats or intimidation aimed at U.S. Attorneys. “No one will get away with threatening or intimidating our great U.S. Attorneys or destroying their offices,” she wrote.

Details of the Incident

The suspect, identified as 51-year-old Keith Michael Lisa, reportedly attempted to enter the Peter W. Rodino Federal Building in Newark, New Jersey, on Wednesday. According to an FBI bulletin released prior to his arrest, Lisa initially approached the building with a baseball bat. After security stopped him from entering, he allegedly abandoned the bat, returned moments later, and proceeded to cause damage inside the facility.

Although the FBI poster did not specifically mention damage to Habba’s office, FBI Director Kash Patel reshared a Fox News report on X that directly linked Lisa to the incident targeting her workspace.

FBI’s Search and Reward

Before the arrest, the FBI’s Newark field office circulated Lisa’s image and offered a $25,000 reward for information that could help bring him into custody. Authorities confirmed his capture on Saturday via their official social media channels.

Habba, who was recently appointed interim U.S. Attorney for the District of New Jersey, has not publicly commented on the incident.

Federal Response

Officials emphasized that any attempt to intimidate or harm federal prosecutors will be met with swift action. The investigation into the attack and Lisa’s alleged motives is ongoing.
