Pawn Stars’ Corey Harrison Seeks Financial Help After Serious Motorcycle Crash in Mexico

After being seriously injured in a motorcycle accident earlier this year, Pawn Stars star Corey Harrison is asking his fans for financial help.

The 42-year-old reality TV personality was involved in a serious accident while riding his bike in Tulum in January, just days before his father Rick Harrison was set to marry Angie Polushkin on January 26.

According to a GoFundMe campaign hosted by Corey’s friend Aaron Chambers, the accident left him with serious injuries, including 11 broken ribs, a concussion, internal bleeding, and a punctured lung.

Following the accident, Harrison was taken to a hospital in Playa del Carmen where he received treatment for two weeks. However, the mounting medical costs quickly became overwhelming. As the bills piled up, Harrison eventually left the hospital against medical advice and returned to his home in Tulum.

After returning home, his condition worsened.  In severe pain, he had to call a housekeeper who administered IV fluids and morphine. Harrison was initially reluctant to take painkillers after his brother, Adam Harrison, died of a fentanyl overdose in 2024, friends said.

A few days later, Harrison’s oxygen levels dropped dangerously low, prompting friends to drive him more than four hours to a hospital in Merida where treatment was more affordable.

Doctors there discovered that one of his ribs was completely dislocated and was pressing on his lungs. Nearly three liters of blood had to be drained from his chest cavity, and Harrison underwent three emergency surgeries to save his life.

He remained in the hospital for another 18 days before finally being released. By then, his medical bills had exceeded $100,000.

According to the fundraiser, Harrison had already exhausted his savings and maxed out his credit cards while paying for his treatment. The campaign was launched to help cover the remaining medical expenses and ongoing recovery costs.

Chambers explained that despite Harrison’s television fame, financial security is not guaranteed. “Being on television doesn’t come with a safety net for medical emergencies,” he wrote.

Harrison later confirmed that he is no longer officially affiliated with Pawn Stars, although he still receives some residual income from reruns of the long-running History Channel series, which follows the day-to-day operations of the famed Gold & Silver Pawn Shop.

Despite the difficult circumstances, Harrison has expressed gratitude for the support he has received so far. He has pledged that once he is fully recovered and back to work, he plans to donate the money to a children’s hospital.

“Please don’t kick someone when they are already sick,” Harrison wrote, thanking fans who have sent messages of support or contributed to the fundraiser.

For now, the reality star is continuing his recovery in Mexico as he works to regain his strength after the fatal accident.
