TODAY fans have noticed Al Roker missing from the NBC morning show this week — but the beloved meteorologist is simply taking a well-deserved break.

The 71-year-old weather icon shared a peaceful update from his Hudson Valley home, posting a video of the vibrant fall scenery. “I try to breathe deeply and appreciate what God and nature present to us,” Roker wrote on Instagram. “A chance to recharge and reinvest in yourself and those around you. See you next week on TODAY.”

In Roker’s absence, fellow TODAY co-host Dylan Dreyer took over weather duties, keeping viewers updated while Al enjoyed his downtime.

Meanwhile, Roker’s wife, Deborah Roberts, is celebrating the release of her new book, Sisters Loved and Treasured: Stories of Unbreakable Bonds. She expressed gratitude on Instagram, writing, “This project has deepened my love for my own sisters and the stories of sisterhood around the world.”

A longtime fixture at NBC, Roker joined the network in 1978 and became TODAY’s full-time weatherman in 1996. Even after more than four decades, he says his passion for the job hasn’t faded — and he plans to keep going “until the wheels fall off.”
