HENRY COUNTY, Ind. — Jack’s Donuts of Indiana Commissary LLC has filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy, reporting more than $14 million in debt and about $1.4 million in assets, according to court documents filed Wednesday in the Southern District of Indiana.
Among the largest creditors is Carter Logistics, which claims it is owed over $700,000 for unpaid delivery services across central Indiana.
The Chapter 11 filing allows the company to reorganize under court supervision and continue operating while repaying debts.
The commissary, located at 2000 Troy Avenue in New Castle, opened two years ago to centralize donut production for franchise stores — a move that may have strained its finances.
Despite the filing, Jack’s Donuts confirmed all franchise locations will remain open, assuring customers that local stores are not part of the bankruptcy case.
> “Our stores remain open, our teams are at work, and our commitment to quality, tradition, and community remains unchanged,” the company said in a statement.
Founded more than 60 years ago, the Indiana-based donut chain says it plans to continue operations during the restructuring process and remain focused on serving customers for years to come.
