Jesse Jackson Hospitalized in Chicago

Civil rights icon Rev. Jesse Jackson has been hospitalized in Chicago, his family confirmed on Wednesday. The 84-year-old leader, known for his decades of activism and his close ties to Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., is reportedly receiving care at Northwestern Memorial Hospital.

Jackson has been living with progressive supranuclear palsy (PSP), a rare neurodegenerative disorder, for more than ten years. His family shared that his current hospitalization is related to complications from the condition, though they have not released further details about his health.

Throughout his life, Rev. Jackson has been a powerful voice for racial and social justice. He founded the Rainbow PUSH Coalition, a Chicago-based organization focused on equality and political empowerment, and ran for president in the 1980s, leaving a lasting mark on American politics and civil rights.

As of now, his family has asked for privacy while he continues to receive medical care.
