Fans have been waiting a long time for this moment, and it’s finally here. Spaceballs 2 has officially wrapped filming, according to Josh Gad, who’s wearing multiple hats on the project as a producer, writer, and star. The film is now headed into post-production, with its release currently slated for 2027.
Gad shared the news on Instagram, posting a photo of what appears to be a spaceship’s control panel — complete with the famous “Ludicrous” speed lever. He marked the milestone with a lighthearted caption that quickly got longtime fans excited.
While details about the story are still under wraps, the sequel is expected to reunite familiar characters while poking fun at Star Wars and today’s sci-fi blockbusters. With filming finished, the journey back to ludicrous speed is officially underway.
