Joshua Allen Dead

Joshua Allen, best known for winning Season 4 of So You Think You Can Dance, has died at the age of 36. His family confirmed that Allen passed away on September 30 after being struck by a train.
Remembering Joshua Allen
Allen captured national attention in 2008 when he became the champion of the Fox dance competition, edging out runner-up Stephen “tWitch” Boss, who later became both a star in his own right and a close friend. Despite having little formal training growing up, Allen’s natural ability and determination shone through. He once explained that he would sneak in classes during summer breaks and, once cast on the show, dedicated himself to taking as many lessons as possible to refine his skills.
Fellow dancer and longtime friend Emmanuel Hurd shared a heartfelt tribute on Instagram, describing Allen as “the life of the party” and “one of the realest people” he had ever known. Hurd added that Allen is now “with Stephen,” a reference to Boss, who died in 2022.
Life and Career
Following his win, Allen spoke openly about his ambitions, which went far beyond performing. He hoped to record music, choreograph, open his own studio, and eventually run both a production company and a record label.
He remained active in the entertainment world, making appearances at Hollywood premieres including Dance Flick in 2009 and High Strung in 2016. Still, his journey wasn’t without difficulties. In 2016, Allen faced legal trouble in Los Angeles, which resulted in jail time and probation the following year.
Legacy
News of Allen’s passing has left fans and the dance community stunned. He is remembered not only for his talent on stage but also for the honesty, energy, and passion he brought to every interaction.
Though his life was cut tragically short, Joshua Allen’s story continues to inspire dancers and dreamers who see in him proof that raw determination can carry someone to incredible heights.
