One of Hollywood’s most beloved stars, Rachel McAdams, has officially cemented her legacy by receiving a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. The actress, known for iconic roles in films like ‘The Notebook’ and ‘Mean Girls’, was honored at a heartfelt ceremony in Los Angeles on Tuesday.
McAdams, who has spent more than half her life in front of the camera, reflected on her career journey with gratitude and humility. She thanked her parents, longtime collaborators, and mentors who have shaped her career. Among those she paid tribute to was Diane Keaton, whom she described as a guiding force in her life and career.
An emotional McAdams said, “She taught me that it doesn’t matter how long you’ve been doing this, you have to give everything you have to every performance. You have to lead with love—even if sometimes it makes you feel like a complete fool.”
The ceremony was attended by close friends and colleagues, including actor Domhnall Gleeson and director Sam Raimi, both of whom delivered emotional and humorous tributes.
Gleeson, who starred opposite McAdams in the 2013 romantic drama ‘About Time’, gave a playful speech that had the audience erupting in laughter, only to realize later that it was full of praise. He jokingly claimed that McAdams didn’t “deserve” the honor—explaining that she is so talented, so kind, so versatile, and so universally loved that it couldn’t possibly be fair.
He said, “It’s not fair to be one of the best actors, the nicest person on set, a devoted mother, and still achieve such incredible artistic and commercial success. That’s not how it’s supposed to work in Hollywood!” He also joked about how convincing McAdams’ performance was in ‘About Time,’ saying that even months after filming wrapped, McAdams had him convinced that she could actually time travel.
Director Sam Raimi also praised McAdams, calling her a rare talent with emotional depth and extraordinary acting abilities. The two recently worked together on the upcoming horror thriller ‘Send Help,’ which is set to be released on January 30th. In the film, McAdams and Dylan O’Brien play colleagues stranded on a remote island after a plane crash.
Raimi described the film as a story of survival, resilience, and empowerment, adding that McAdams brought a powerful emotional core to the character. While posing alongside her new star, McAdams appeared overwhelmed by the love and recognition surrounding her. From romantic leads to witty comedies and intense dramas, her career spans various genres and generations—making her Walk of Fame honor particularly well-deserved
