Star Wars fans, the wait is finally over. Lucasfilm has released the first teaser trailer for Star Wars: The Mandalorian and Grogu, and it promises a galaxy full of action, surprises, and fan-favorite characters. The film hits theaters May 22, 2026, and will also be shown in IMAX.
A New Chapter in the Mandalorian Story
Set after the fall of the Empire, the New Republic is working hard to keep peace across the galaxy. But scattered Imperial warlords still pose a threat. To fight back, the Republic turns to Din Djarin (Pedro Pascal) — the Mandalorian — and his loyal companion Grogu.
This “clan of two” is ready for their biggest mission yet. The teaser shows Din piloting a new Razor Crest ship, with Grogu at his side, ready to take on whatever challenges lie ahead.

The movie is directed by Jon Favreau, who also serves as producer alongside Kathleen Kennedy, Dave Filoni, and Ian Bryce. Music will once again be composed by Ludwig Göransson, bringing back the iconic sounds of The Mandalorian.
